lLLNESS
We ask that campers and staff who are feeling ill or experiencing symptoms, such as fever, cough, sore throat, or gastrointestinal issues to stay home until they are symptom-free for 24 hours (or 48 hours for gastrointestinal issues). Further details regarding different illnesses and symptoms can be found in the school’s communicable disease manual.
Should a camper become sick while on campus, they will be taken to our “Health Hub,” located in the The Barn. The school’s health coordinator will call parents/guardians to arrange pick-up within an hour.
SCHOOL COVID-19 PROTOCOLS
If a camper or employee has been exposed to COVID-19 while on campus, testing is available in accordance with Oregon Health Authority (OHA) and Oregon Department of Education (ODE) guidelines. If campers or employees leave a camp due to the onset of symptoms during the day, they can be tested before leaving campus.
Campers and families who test positive for COVID-19 must follow the school’s COVID-19 protocols. Any camper or parent/guardian who has tested positive for COVID-19 must isolate and not come to campus. They can return when they are symptom-free and after day 5 of being symptomatic or testing positive. They must wear a mask for days 6-10. Please also contact the summer camps office at summercamps@catlin.edu.
If a camper was directly exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, the camper must wear a well-fitting mask for 10 days from the date of the last close contact with the positive individual. To learn more, please visit our COVID-19 protocols page. Please note that these protocols are updated as needed in response to OHA and ODE guidelines and requirements, as well the health and well being of the school community.
MASK WEARING
Campers are welcome to wear masks, but they are not required. The only location where masks are required is in our “Health Hub,” which is mandated by the Oregon Health Authority for all health spaces.
VACCINATIONS
We encourage all campers to be vaccinated and boosted, based on CDC guidelines, but are not mandating vaccinations for campers to participate. Catlin Gabel camp instructors are required to follow Catlin Gabel vaccination policies.
