COVID-19 Protocols
In response to the changing COVID-19 environment, Catlin Gabel has adjusted school protocols as needed to meet state and local requirements and to support the health and wellness of our community, and we will continue to do so.
COVID-19 Vaccination Requirements
Catlin Gabel will continue to require all employees, contract workers, and volunteers who work directly with children, as well as all age-eligible students, to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the 2022-23 school year. This means completing the initial series of COVID-19 vaccinations (two shots of Pfizer or Moderna or one of Johnson and Johnson) before school starts. Exemptions will continue to be permitted. All employees and students are required to submit proof of vaccination status through the employee and parent/guardian portals. Additional boosters, as recommended by the CDC and OHA are strongly encouraged, but will not be tracked by the school. If health authority vaccination recommendations change, the school reserves the right to adjust health and safety policies.
Wearing Masks
Catlin Gabel community members are invited to wear masks while at school or participating in school activities, but they are no longer required. The only location where masks are required is the campus “Health Hub, which is mandated by the Oregon Health Authority for all health spaces. Please also see our protocols if you or someone in your household test positive for COVID-19, as masks are required for a limited period of time. The school also reserves the right to return to masking should school or local conditions change.
Ventilation
All Catlin Gabel ventilation systems meet or exceed the requirements of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, and the CDC. Our central air units and ductless air conditioners have the highest-rated filters available.
COVID-19 Exposure Management
Our campus protocols for positive cases and exposure management will be updated before school starts for the 2022-23 school year. Until that time, our COVID-19 current protocols can be viewed here.
