Before & After School Program

Catlin Gabel families with students from preschool to 5th grade can choose from a range of options to best fit their needs through our Before School Care and After School Program (ASP). In addition, the Middle School offers a supervised study hall for 6-8th graders.

Our before-school and after school-care are licensed childcare programs. This means we are required to maintain specific ratios of students to teachers. For grades 1-5 the ratio is 15:1, and for preschool and kindergarten the ratio is 10:1. Parents and Guardians submit their requests for care through the Parent Portal. Space is limited for each program.

Before School CARE

Before School Care opens at 7:15 a.m. and is available for Beginning and Lower School (BLS) students at no extra cost to families. When the bell rings to start the school day, students are walked directly to their classrooms.

After School Program

Our After School Program (ASP) is offered from the end of the school day to 6 p.m. on days that BLS is in session. Students are provided the space for open-ended play, exploration of nature, and organized projects and games. All after-school program activities will be outdoors for the fall season. Students  are given a snack when they first arrive and again at 5:00 p.m. All snacks are nut-free and dietary needs are provided for. Families can secure placement in this program by signing up for ASP 3-5 days per week.

ASP Drop-In

Families who would like to use the ASP on an as-needed basis can schedule attendance using the drop-in program. Drop-in spots will be available each day.

All-Day Program

ASP provides all-day care from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. when BLS classes are not in session due to conferences, professional development, or teacher work days. Each session includes themed activities on campus. Families who use ASP on an annual basis are eligible for early-bird registration.
