Before & After School Program

The sense of neighborhood created on the campus is one that makes the Catlin Gabel After School Program (ASP) an excellent choice for many families. With teachers and teaching assistants organizing and supervising art projects, cooking capers, sports events, outdoor fun, and organized games, students have plenty to do. These programs are designed primarily for Beginning and Lower School students.

After School Program Update

We are planning on offering ASP for all ages (preschool to 8th grade) in fall 2021, assuming Oregon Department of Education (ODE) requirements and state metrics are met. More information will be posted this summer. 

Options for Beginning & Lower School Students

Families can choose from a variety of plans that best fit their needs—from drop-in opportunities and to all-day programs when certain class days are not in session to after-care each school day.

Before School

Before School care is available between 7:15 and 8:15 a.m. for BLS students at no extra cost to families. This drop-in program requires no pre-arrangement for attendance.

After School Program

Our After School Program (ASP) is offered from 3 to 6 p.m. on days that the BLS is in session and includes an afternoon snack. Parents/guardians may arrange full-time care (at a reduced rate), part-time care, or use it on a drop-in basis. Due to the limited number of spaces available in the ASP, students must be registered for the annual rate or a drop-in spot to attend.

ASP Drop-In

Families who would like to use the ASP on an as-needed basis can schedule attendance using the drop-in program. Registration for each month will open on the Friday before the 1st day of the month. Registration for each day will close at 1:00 p.m. If you need to cancel your child's spot, please email asp@catlin.edu and we will send you a confirmation of cancellation.

All-Day Program

ASP provides care on days when BLS is not in session due to conferences, professional development, or teacher work days. In addition to the basic ASP, specific enrichment activities are offered for grades 1–5. Registration for these days opens on the parent portal school website two weeks prior to the day of the program. Space is limited.

2019-20 Program Rates for Beginning & Lower School

Note: ASP was only open to preschool students in 2020-21 because of COVID. Costs for 2021-22 have not yet been determined.

Families who would like to secure placement in the ASP have the option of choosing to attend 3, 4, or 5 days a week. Families selecting 3 or 4 day schedules may adjust the days of the week if space permits. Charges are billed in 8 installments October-May. Changes in billing options may be made the week after Winter Break or the week after Spring Break.

  • 5 DAYS A WEEK = $3,300. Includes early-bird registration (3 weeks prior) for the All-Day Programs at a rate of $30 per day.
  • 4 DAYS A WEEK = $2,660. Includes early-bird registration (3 weeks prior) for the All-Day Programs at a rate of $35 per day.
  • 3 DAYS A WEEK = $1,990. Includes early-bird registration (3 weeks prior) for the All-Day Programs at a rate of $40 per day.
 

Drop-In Rates

If your child attends the ASP without being signed up for the day, a charge of $30.00 will incur. If your child was signed up for drop-in ASP and does not attend without cancelling or notification, there will be an automatic charge for the first hour of $8.75.

  • Pick-up between dismissal and 4:15 p.m. = $8.75
  • Pick-up between 4:16 and 5:15 p.m. = $17.50
  • Pick-up between 5:16 and 6:00 p.m. = $26.25
 

Late Fee

There is an additional charge of $15.00 for every 15 minutes a child remains after 6:00 p.m.

 

All-Day Program Rate

Cost is $55.00 for the day. Students who are part of the ASP 3-5 days a week have access to Early-bird registration (3 weeks prior) and discounted rates.

Options for Middle School Students

Our Middle School provides at no cost to families a drop-in program for students who are remaining on campus after the regular school day ends. This program is to be used by every student except those in supervised activities, such as athletics.

After School Check-in

After school check-in is provided for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Any student on campus after 3:45 p.m. is expected to check-in. Students must be picked up by 6 p.m. For questions, please contact the Middle School office.
