Soccer State Champions! A winning tradition at Catlin

A winning tradition for the Catlin Gabel soccer program continues as both boys and girls Varsity teams again took the state title at the 3A/2A/1A Soccer State Championships.

This marks the third consecutive year that Catlin Gabel's boys and girls teams have won the State Championship. The finals were played Saturday, November 13, at Liberty High School in Hillsboro.

Under coach Peter Shulman, the boys won their third consecutive title, defeating the Dayton Pirates, 8-1. The Eagles boys varsity team finished the season 17-0, outscored opponents 111-10, and won 75 percent of its matches by five or more goals.

Under coach Chris Dorough, the girls' team defeated #1 ranked Oregon Episcopal School Aardvaarks by a final score of 1-0 with a thrilling goal in the last minute of play. The Catlin girls team this year went 14-2-1 scoring 78 goals and only conceding 4.
