Diversity Summit 2020 at Catlin Gabel

Participants in the Diversity Summit session, "The Erasure of Asian Americans in Contemporary America"

March 5, 2020 - Upper and Middle School students participated in workshops and came together in affinity groups and open space discussions throughout the day at the annual Diversity Summit at Catlin Gabel School. Upper School faculty used student input to design and organize the workshops, and invited students to contribute to many sessions as co-presenters.

“We believe a diverse community is integral to maintaining a relevant, future-focused school. A community of diverse learners with different perspectives and life experiences is essential for deep learning and real-world preparation. We foster an environment in which students and adults are curious and supportive, and strive to recognize each person for their unique contributions.” - From the Catlin Gabel Core Values

The annual Diversity Summit at Catlin Gabel is an opportunity for students to explore topics of personal interest and reflect on their learning in respectful, open dialogue. The Summit is reinforces the school’s core value of diversity and inclusion, and provides opportunities for personal growth and experience.
