Thanks to generous support from private donors and foundations, we are able to offer these programs at reduced rates. However, no one will be turned away due to an inability to pay; see below. Email place@catlin.edu or call 503-201-0727, for scholarship information.

Be All-In: The True Cost of PLACE and Tiered Pricing

This summer we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of PLACE and are happy to continue offering these programs to students from public and private high schools around the region and beyond. So far, we’ve worked with hundreds of youth from 25 different high schools and want to continue making this program accessible for all.

We know money can be a barrier to participation. The PLACE program is committed to equity, full engagement, and creating real changemaking opportunities for all youth. We also know that you are the expert on your family’s financial situation, not us.

As you consider applying for PLACE programs and your family’s finances, please also consider the true cost of PLACE, how these programs can work for your family, and maybe how your family can help PLACE work for other families too.

PLACE uses a voluntary tiered-pricing structure. Rather than raising all fees to levels that fully cover expenses – and price PLACE beyond the means of many youth – we are giving you the option to pay what you can and more if you are able.

For each of our programs for youth, you will find four different prices. You get to choose the one that best fits your family’s ability to pay. Please consider selecting the highest price your family is able to afford. By doing so, you’ll not only help cover the costs of running PLACE, but also contribute to making this experience more accessible to all youth in the Portland region and beyond.
