Miranda Wellman '91, Director of Advancement & Strategic Initiatives
Miranda Wellman ’91 is the Director of Advancement & Strategic Initiatives at Catlin Gabel School. Over the last decade she has overseen annual and capital fundraising including the largest gift in the school’s history, a rebuilding of the admission team, and the launch of signature programs like the Palma Scholars Program. She currently oversees all fundraising, communications, and the alumni program. Miranda chairs the strategic planning steering committee which monitors and ensures the school’s progress toward strategic priorities, and oversees the PLACE program venture. Prior to working for Catlin Gabel, Miranda co-led a nonprofit agency serving domestic violence victims in the Portland area, and fundraised for Scripps College in California. She first began her career in corporate finance and banking in San Francisco, after earning a degree in economics from Scripps College where she was an Ellen Browning Scripps Humanities Fellow. She is also an alumna of Catlin Gabel School, and parent to a daughter in the first grade.

Sprinavasa Bell Brown '02, Alumni Program Director
Sprinavasa is a native Portlander, a skilled communications professional, and program director. She is ambitious and passionate about engaging Catlin Gabel alumni, and supporting equity and inclusion work of Catlin Gabel School. Sprinavasa is ready to engage her peers and embodies the characteristics and traits we strive to teach. She earned a BA in biology and African American studies at Oberlin College, and an MA in communication and leadership studies at Gonzaga University. Sprina enjoys cooking, traveling, DIY projects, and exploring Portland’s food scene. She is a recognized community leader, and currently serves as the Executive Director and Founder of Camp ELSO a non-profit environmental and STEM education summer program for children of color.

Brian Davies, Development Services Manager
Brian grew up in Southern California and studied resort management at San Francisco State University. He has served over five years as the development administrator for the YMCA of Columbia Willamette, supporting the fundraising efforts for their annual campaign. His most recent position was held at OHSU Foundation as a research and prospect management coordinator. He spends his summers backpacking, rafting, and kayaking, and his winters escaping to the Cascades snow.

Ken DuBois, Publications and Public Relations Director
Ken is a native Chicagoan who has spent the past two decades working to advance mission-driven non-profits in Portland. He has led public outreach, marketing, and communications efforts for Literary Arts, Inc., Oregon Public Broadcasting, Oregon Historical Society, Children’s Cancer Association, and Morrison Child & Family Services. Ken has also had a dual career in journalism, producing radio features for Minnesota Public Radio, CBS Radio, Public Radio International, and NPR; and writing articles, reviews, and op-eds for The Oregonian, Portland Tribune, Salem Statesman-Journal, and other publications. Ken received a BA in Psychology and Studio Art from Macalester College.

Marcella Fauci, Communications Director
Marcella attended the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome – Italy - where her studies included theatre, ballet, contemporary dance and choreography. After she graduated in Italian Modern Literature at La Sapienza she got a Master Degree in Marketing and Communication. Prior to working for Catlin Gabel, Marcella spent many years working as communications director for different companies in Italy and The Netherlands.

Tiffany Hurst, Events Manager
After receiving her bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis, Tiffany moved to the Midwest to earn a graduate degree from Miami University (Ohio). She spent her early professional days advising college students and planning campus events large and small. Her experience in fundraising, helping others and taking care of everything “behind the scenes” led her to wonderful opportunities with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, the Harker School, and the West Linn-Wilsonville School District. She enjoys photography, reading, music, exploring the Oregon Coast with her family, and reminiscing about her days as a Disneyland Cast Member.

Greg McMahon, Development Services Coordinator
Greg attended Oberlin Conservatory and the University of Michigan, where his studies included flute performance and opera. Career highlights have included numerous performances at Carnegie Hall; engagements as a freelance bouncer, massage therapist, and landscaper; and starting a 501(c)3 nonprofit. A native of western Pennsylvania, Greg left his beloved family and Steelers to move to Portland to marry the woman of his dreams.

Lilian Ongelungel ‘07, Marketing and Events Coordinator
Lilian is an alumna of Catlin Gabel and graduated from the University of Portland, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Communication with an emphasis on Public Relations. She is passionate about education equity and social justice. Lilian previous served as an executive officer for the Pacific Islander Student Alliance, a regional network for Pacific Islander student groups in higher education. She was also a founding member of the Coalition for Asian and Pacific American Studies at Portland State University. When she isn’t delving into her work as the Marketing and Events Coordinator at Catlin Gabel, Lilian enjoys creating art, writing, reading, traveling, indulging in the local food scene, and the occasional karaoke session.

Michael R. Oreste, Director of Foundation and Corporate Relations
Michael majored in medieval history at St. Mary's College of California and received his master's degree in political science from the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. Michael is a native Oregonian with over six years of experience writing grants for Rosemary Anderson High School in North Portland and various nonprofits throughout the metro area. He is an avid fly fisherman and loves the outdoors.

Nicole Spencer, Catlin Gabel Fund Director
For over a decade, Nicole has led a variety of development and communications initiatives - from capital campaigns to annual giving - focused on the advancement of education, environment, and community. Originally from California, Nicole has a passion for service and experiential education leading to responsible action. Nicole is an adventurer at heart and enjoys hiking, gardening, yoga, backpacking, and travel. She holds a B.S. in Ecology and Resource Management from Humboldt State University and received the international Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) credential in 2016.

Lea Trefsgar, Catlin Gabel Fund Associate Director
Lea comes to Catlin Gabel with a decade of experience in fundraising, education and numerous nonprofit organizations. Originally from the east coast, she attended Syracuse University where she earned a degree in painting. With a passion for adventure she moved to the West Coast where she received a MA in child and family counseling from Lewis and Clark. Lea lives in Portland with her husband and two children and enjoys travel, painting, rock climbing and skiing with her family.
