Welcome to Catlin Gabel Athletics!
Every day, Catlin Gabel’s coaches and athletes pour their hearts into their sports. We thank the community for supporting our teams. The collaborative efforts of parents, faculty-staff, alumni, coaches, and athletes make our program stand proud.
With a rich tradition and history of success in athletics, Catlin Gabel is committed to excellence in all areas. We understand that the key to long-term success is developing our young players. Our varsity coaches are not just coaching their teams, they are responsible for the entire program, which ensures that our youngest players are developing the skills needed to thrive on Upper School teams.
Catlin Gabel values the lessons taught by athletics participation: teamwork, overcoming adversity, selflessness, and strength of character. The primary goal of our athletics program is to intentionally teach leadership and good character traits; we believe by making these our priorities, success will naturally follow.
Just as Catlin Gabel has high academic expectations, our athletics program teaches life lessons and builds skills while expecting the very best. We offer each student, regardless of ability, the opportunity to experience growth, accomplishment, and success at his or her skill level. In our Middle School program, all athletes can participate, work toward improving skills, and learn about leadership. In the Upper School, we encourage participation with a no-cut policy. Students can build their skills at the JV and JV2 level; at the more competitive varsity level, we strive for victory in league play with an emphasis on the post-season. At all levels, we aim for each athlete reaching his or her maximum potential in every area of the student–athlete experience.
The strength of our athletics program is in its number of participants, focus on skills and team building, and excellent coaching staff. I invite you to explore the athletics section of the website and come out to play! Please don’t hesitate to get in touch if you have any questions.
