What does a “life worth living” look like? What does it feel like? What does it include? Join new Upper School Head, Aline Garcia-Rubio and Head of School, Tim Bazemore, over cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as we seek answers to big questions. Inspired by the senior seminar Aline and Tim are teaching in partnership with Yale University, you and Catlin Gabel friends will share personal perspectives and life lessons as we work toward our own answers to the questions above. Your teachers will prompt you with insights from philosophers, religious traditions, and our own students to ensure you leave feeling smart and thoughtful. The evening promises to be a true Catlin Gabel blend of fun, learning, reflection, and laughter.
The second annual Cart-a-Palooza returns to Catlin Gabel's Fir Grove on Satruday night, June 3, 2017. Join fellow parents as we sample a wide array of diverse and delicious fare served from a variety of Portland's most renowned four-wheeled kitchens. Cap off the meal with a sweet treat from Ben & Jerry's ice cream truck. Guests will also enjoy beer and wine, musice, and the fabulous company of fellow Catlin Gabel food cart lovers. This is the perfect way for parents to come together to end the school year and kick-off summer at this adults-only event.
Come dine and share an inspired evening in the country with some of Oregon’s finest winemakers, who also happen to be Catlin parents, at a spectacular wine country setting. Get a glimpse into the 2016 Vintage on the eve of 2017 harvest. Please join the fun at The Catlin Gabel Vintners Dinner on Saturday, August 19th, 2017 for an end of summer feast under the stars at Hamacher Wines just outside of Beaverton. We’ll start with some Bocce, perhaps a walk amongst the vines of one of Oregon’s oldest vineyards and finally retire to an elegant dinner served beneath the spreading branches of old maples and towering fir trees. It will be a night to remember. Dinner will be prepared by chef Andrew Biggs of Hunt & Gather. A native Oregonian who has focused his life on collecting and sharing the bounty of our state. Chef Andrew and his crew will prepare our meal around the wines produced by five Catlin winemaking families. Service to be provided by a group of CG students and recent alums....the next generation of our wine families.
