Student wins Presidential award
Posted 02/24/2015 09:16AM

Nadya Okamoto ’16 was recently honored with the President's Volunteer Service Award, presented on behalf of Barack Obama by the Prudential Spirit of Community Awards. The award recognizes Americans who have volunteered significant amounts of their time to serve their communities and countries.

In addition to her other volunteer service, Nadya recognized an urgent need and created a nonprofit called Camions of Care. She and volunteers, including fellow student Vince Forand ’16, deliver hygiene essentials to homeless women in the Portland area. The article linked below highlights Nadya and her nonprofit and the good works they do.
