Can Catlin Gabel reshape the way students learn to enhance their educational experience and better prepare them for college and life? Can we work with schools and colleges to create a healthier and more rewarding path through high school and into higher education? Can we help colleges see more clearly the value of the whole student – their varied interests and talents as well as their academic skills and knowledge?
In fact, we are answering those questions today. Catlin Gabel co-founded the Mastery Transcript Consortium, a growing national alliance of independent and public schools that aims to redesign the high school transcript, and through that to redesign learning. Over 200 schools have joined the consortium, with a shared goal: to enhance the way students learn and create a more effective approach to communicating each student's knowledge, skills, and character.
Head of School Tim Bazemore and Head of Upper School Aline Garcia-Rubio are at the center of this effort as thought leaders and presenters, while Academic Dean Derek Kanarek and math department chair Shannon Rush are leading colleagues in the redesign process. Join us for this Town Hall to learn about the work of the consortium and the efforts of our faculty, and how we hope it will improve your child’s educational experience.
