Posted 10/13/2018 02:00PM

Dawn Isaacs began the 2018-19 school year in a new position at Catlin Gabel, Head of Beginning and Lower Schools. Dawn is ideally suited for this role, having served as our Head of Beginning School for three years and spent four years as a second grade teacher in our Lower School. Dawn also has 14 years of elementary experience in private, public, and charter schools across the country.

Dawn was a leading voice in the creation of the Catlin Gabel Strategic Plan, and leads our Ed Lab Team, which considers effective ways to integrate learning across divisions, and engages teachers in "action research" to improve the student experience. She is well-versed in emerging research and knowledgeable about a wide variety of innovative educational practices.

Dawn earned her master's in Educational Leadership and Administration from Maryville University of Saint Louis.

In announcing the new leadership role for Dawn, Head of School Tim Bazemore wrote, “I believe that connecting these two divisions more intentionally will enhance teaching and learning and help us to realize new opportunities. We are well-positioned to make this change now, and that benefits for students and families will include curriculum alignment, communication with parents and guardians, student resources, and students' transition between divisions.”
