PLACE 2009-2016

All PLACE programs empower youth to lead change through systems-based, collaborative approaches to community issues. These projects are led by students for real governmental and non-profit clients to foster conversation and action with community members and civic leaders. In short, the students in PLACE programs have an authentic opportunity to make a positive impact in their city.

Through community meetings, focus groups, surveys, and presentations, PLACE students have engaged nearly 4,000 citizens from all quadrants of Portland and many surrounding cities and towns who may not traditionally be included civic issues.
