Nicole Rinetti-Clawson, Director of Advancement
Nicole Rinetti-Clawson has almost twenty years of experience as a development leader, primarily in higher education. Prior to joining Catlin Gabel, she served as the Director of Major Gifts at the University of Portland, and as the Deputy Executive Director of Major Gifts and Senior Director of Development, Major Gifts and Annual Fund Officer at Santa Clara University, University of San Francisco, University of California, Berkeley, and Pitzer College. She earned a B.A. in government at the University of Redlands and an M.A. in nonprofit administration at the University of San Francisco. Originally from California, Nicole has settled in Portland with her husband and two children, and enjoys travelling, running, hiking, and spending time with family and friends.
Allie Coutu, Events, Assistant Director
Originally from Canby, Oregon, Allie earned her BS in Marketing and International Business from the University of Colorado. Before starting at Catlin Gabel in 2018, Allie lived in Hawaii for 2 years working on environmental advocacy and creating change at the legislature. She went on to backpack Europe for 2 months and perpetually cannot wait for her next international trip. In her spare time, Allie enjoys spending time with her family and being a "bonus mama" to her partner's son. When not at work, you might find Allie practicing yoga, relaxing on a beach, hiking, camping, traveling and adventuring anywhere life takes her.

Amanda Cowart, Catlin Gabel Fund, Assistant Director
Amanda joined Catlin Gabel in 2016, transitioning from the Beginning School to the Advancement office in January of 2018. She earned her BA in communication science, M.Ed. in human services, and has experience teaching and working in progressive, independent schools since 2008. Amanda brings her passion for writing and connecting with others to the team. In her spare time, she enjoys exploring the Pacific Northwest with her husband and three boys. She enjoys camping, hiking, practicing yoga, and cheering for the Green Bay Packers.

Brian Davies, Advancement Services, Manager
Brian grew up in Southern California and studied resort management at San Francisco State University. Prior to joining Catlin Gabel in 2014, Brian worked at the OHSU Foundation as a research and prospect management coordinator, and previously had served more than five years as the development administrator for the YMCA of Columbia Willamette. He spends his summers backpacking, rafting, and kayaking, and his winters escaping to the Cascades snow.

Gen Kaady, Events, Director
Born and raised in Portland, Gen graduated from Portland State University with a B.S. in communications and quickly found herself in the world of development and event management. She brings over 15 years of event experience to Catlin Gabel and is excited to help share the Catlin Gabel story through dynamic events. Gen believes relationships are the key to life, laughter feeds the soul, and that kindness goes a long way. In her spare time, Gen loves reading, running, traveling with her husband and three boys, Greek dancing and celebrating her Greek roots.

Karine Kadyan, Development & Alumni, Senior Director
Karine arrived at Catlin Gabel in August 2019 with over 15 years of experience working with nonprofit organizations. Most recently, she served as a Major Gift Officer and Director of Leadership Annual Giving at Pacific University. Prior to her move to Oregon, Karine worked in the annual fund at the California Institute of Technology, managed a volunteer program helping foster youth in L.A. County, and served as the Director of Operations for a Red Cross Chapter. She holds a BA in Communications from Cal State Fullerton. Outside of work, Karine enjoys traveling with her son and husband, cooking and eating delicious food, and swimming.

Evan Lewis ’99, Catlin Gabel Fund, Manager
Evan Lewis is excited to be back at Catlin Gabel, where he has fond memories of running on the cross country team, putting on plays in Cabell Center, and writing many, many five paragraph essays. Prior to joining the Advancement team, Evan was the Director of Development at Hope Chinese Charter School, and the Grants Specialist & Database Coordinator at Bridges Academy in Studio City, CA. He has a BA from Whitman College, and a MM in composition from Mannes College, The New School. He’s happy to be back in the Pacific Northwest where he enjoys running, reading, and spending time with his son and his wife (also a class of '99 alum!).

Owen Norvell, Advancement Services, Coordinator
A Portland native, Owen graduated from University of Oregon with a B.S. in Political Science and went on to work in the higher education fundraising sector for 10+ years. He left the non-profit world for a time to work in other industries and is happy to return to his career roots as a member of the Catlin Gabel School Advancement team. Owen enjoys spending time outside and engaging in hobbies with an output including home-brewing, hiking in Forest Park, coffee roasting, and woodworking.

Michael Oreste, Foundations and Partnerships, Director
Born and raised in Portland, Michael earned his B.A. in Medieval History from Saint Mary’s College of California and an M.A. in Political Science from the American University of Beirut in Beirut, Lebanon. Prior to joining Catlin Gabel, Michael served as the Chief Advancement Officer at the Oregon College of Art and Craft and Director of Foundation Relations at Rosemary Anderson High School/Portland OIC, an alternative high school for at-risk youth in North Portland. In his spare time, Michael loves to fly fish, ski and camp with his two daughters.

Meghan Pollard, Alumni Engagement, Associate Director
Originally from Portland, Meghan Pollard graduated from Fairfield University (CT) with a B.S. in Economics. She has nearly eighteen years of experience in development, community engagement, and executive leadership transitions. Prior to joining Catlin Gabel, she worked as a consultant with numerous Portland area non-profits in the health, education, foster care, and affordable housing sectors. Meghan lives in Portland with her husband and four children and enjoys traveling, hiking, coaching volleyball and spending time with family and friends.

Toa Suruki, Administrative Assistant
Originally from Southern California, Toa earned her B.A. in Japanese Linguistics from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Prior to joining Catlin Gabel in September 2019, Toa crossed paths with the Catlin Gabel community in the winter of 2017 by bringing Japanese high school students for a short homestay program. She has professional experience serving in the local social justice community and coordinating international programs. In her spare time, Toa likes to run away into the forest and explore the beautiful Pacific Northwest nature. You might also find Toa practicing the taiko drum, swimming, cooking and eating delicious food.

Lea Trefsgar, Special Gifts Officer
Lea comes to Catlin Gabel with a decade of experience in fundraising, education and numerous nonprofit organizations. Originally from the east coast, she attended Syracuse University where she earned a degree in painting. With a passion for adventure she moved to the West Coast where she earned an MA in child and family counseling from Lewis and Clark. Lea lives in Portland with her husband and two children and enjoys traveling, painting, rock climbing and skiing with her family.
