COVID-19 Vaccinations and Positive Cases

Catlin Gabel's vaccinations and booster rates continue to exceed 96% across students and employees, protecting not only the individual but the wider community. In response to positive cases identified on campus, we are established the below processes.

Vaccinations

Employee and volunteer vaccinations

Catlin Gabel requires all employees, as well as all contract workers and volunteers who work directly with children to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the 2021-22 school year. Everyone who is vaccine-eligible must be fully vaccinated by October 2021 and boosted by January 21, 2022. Religious and/or medical exemptions are permitted.

Student Vaccinations

All students who are eligible must also be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the 2021-22 school year. As students reach the authorized age and/or when the guidelines change, we expect there to be different timelines for these groups. Religious and/or medical exemptions are permitted.

Proof of Vaccination Status

All employees and students are required to submit proof of vaccination status through the employee and parent/guardian portals.

Exposure Management

Covid-19 Positive Test

Anyone who tests positive for COVID-19, including those who are vaccinated, must isolate at home for 5 days from symptom onset or after receiving a positive test result (whichever is first). Isolation can end if individual is fever-free for 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medication. Well-fitting masks must be worn at home and at school for days 6 through 10.

Covid-19 HOUSEHOLD Exposure

At this time, if someone in your household has COVID-19 and you work or attend the school, you must not come to school for 5 days after the initial family member's positive test or date of initial symptoms (whichever was first), unless you have tested positive within the last 90 days. Assuming you remain asymptomatic, for days 6-10, wear a well-fitting mask at home and at school.

Covid-19 NON-household Exposure

At this time, if you were exposed to someone outside of your household who is COVID-19 positive, you may continue coming to campus as long as you remain asymptomatic.

Campus NOTIFICATIONS AND testing

We will continue to notify community members if they might have been exposed to a positive case, and to offer testing for those individuals. The school's dashboard will be updated when new exposures are present in the community.
