Student Leadership

Middle School Student Assembly leaders speak in front of students during fall all school assembly

We believe every Middle School student has the potential to lead with integrity and purpose. Through inquiry-based learning, community engagement, and reflective practice, students develop the skills and mindsets to take responsible action and contribute to a more just and compassionate world.

Leadership is not a position, but a practice that grows through meaningful relationships, academic challenge, and a commitment to the common good.

Student Government

The Middle School Student Association (MSSA) is a student-led organization that promotes school spirit, community engagement, and inclusive leadership. Through weekly meetings and event planning, MSSA members organize assemblies, spirit days, and school dances, while also working together to find creative solutions to community challenges. The program empowers students to lead with respect, responsibility, and imagination.

Leadership Learning

Students learn leadership by engaging in projects that require problem-solving, ethical decision-making, and clear communication, often connected to real-world issues. Classrooms emphasize student voice and perspective, creating space for choice, reflection, and shared responsibility. In addition, students in every grade are provided direct instruction in leadership skills such as mentoring, leading a club or affinity group, organizing workshops, and sharing personal stories to inspire others.

Clubs and Affinity Groups

In clubs and affinity groups, students take the lead in shaping their own communities. They create groups based on shared interests or identities, define the mission, and plan activities that reflect their goals. These spaces allow students to practice leadership by organizing events, facilitating conversations, and building inclusive, supportive environments. Faculty and staff serve as partners and guides, but students drive the vision and direction.
