The studio and PC Lab include varied art materials in many media, books, publications, internet,videos, slides, cameras, copiers, scanners, printers, etc.
Students also use materials available from the larger community

Students will learn about works of art and artists from many cultures, places and time periods.

Photography w/o a Darkroom

What are the elements of photography? What makes a good photograph. Are you able to create pictures you are satisfied with most of the time? Do you know most of the functions on your camera. What ways can photographic images be used to create art? What have other artists created?Who is your favorite photographer and why?

Students will understand the Photoshop program in greater depth in the second semester. They will use and feel comfortable and confident when using thier camera.
In the Photoshop program, they will understand layers, paths and how to manipulate them. They will understand filters and tools and how to choose and manipulating text.

Learning the information in Photoshop in the Classroom text book. Learning to use their camera, load film, focus and compose. Learning some history of Photography and what makes a good photograph.

Individual projects are evaluated in class critiques, self-evaluation, teacher-student conferences and written teacher evaluations. Overall written teacher evaluations consider effort, understanding, originality, use of skills and techniques, and craftsmanship as well. Taking photographs, bringing in photographs for further work in photoshop and bringing equiptment to field trips are an essential ingreedients for success

Adobe Photoshop:Classroom in a Book,The studio includes a wide variety of art materials in many media as well as books, publications, internet, videos, slides, cameras, copiers, scanners, printers, etc. Students also make use of materials available from the larger community.

Students will learn about works of art and artists from many cultures, places and time periods. They will explore their world through Photography.
