Upper School

Grades Nine through Twelve

Catlin Gabel’s Upper School program fully embraces the idea of “inspired learning leading to responsible action.” Students are trusted to take their learning seriously, to behave according to ethical standards, and to be partners with their teachers in the learning process. The atmosphere is informal, respectful, lively, and forward looking. Work is balanced with play, and critical thinking with creative thinking. Students are encouraged to take risks and to learn from their mistakes, and the student body is entrusted with considerable power in the running of the community.
