How to request bus and van transportation.
The transportation calendar is located in Public Folders in Microsoft Outlook. To get to it:
Microsoft Windows on campus
Run Microsoft Outlook from the desktop. Select the Folder view
Open Public Folders
Select the Transportation Calendar
Either double-click on the date your want or select New. Fill in the event details. When you save the event, you should receive an email message indicating that the Transportation Coordinator has been sent a copy of your request as well as what happens next. After review, the event will appear in the Transportation Calendar. You are encouraged to check the event prior to when it is to occur to find out what bus and driver have been assigned. Changes should be made by sending them to the Transportation Coordinator by e-mail.
Macintosh users and any users off-campus
Go to Webmail. Select Public Folders
and then Transportation Calendar.
Create a new event. Fill in the event details, specifying:
- Activity
- Destination
- Depart time
- Return time
- Driver
- Number of students + adults
- Depart from gym or theater?
- Contact person
- Division or department
When you save the event, you should receive an email message indicating that the Transportation Coordinator has been sent a copy of your request as well as what happens next. After review, the event will appear in the Transportation Calendar. You are encouraged to check the event prior to when it is to occur to find out what bus and driver have been assigned. Changes should be made by sending them to the Transportation Coordinator by e-mail.
Please note: Outlook Web Access does not correctly display all existing calendar items. It should work fine to create new items, however. If you want to see bus availability, you will need to log into a Windows computer or run Outlook via Remote Desktop Connection on the Terminal Server (see IT for details).
