The Catlin Gabel School Raises $270,000 With Sales From Its 58th Annual Rummage Sale

Funds Raised Will Enable The School To Extend Financial Aid To Many Of Its Students

Catlin Gabel School, dedicated to excellence in education, today announced its 58th annual rummage sale raised $270,000 dollars from sales; the funds raised will enable the School to extend financial aid many of its students.

“Our goal is to make a Catlin Gabel education available to any family that values small class sizes and personalized teaching,” said Lark Palma, Head of School. “Our rigorous academic curriculum is designed to prepare our students for the nation’s most selective colleges and universities.”

Currently, the Catlin Gabel School extends financial assistance to 20% of its students, ranging in age from 6 to 18. The School’s diverse student body comes from NE, NW, SW and SE Portland, Lake Oswego, West Linn, Tualatin and Vancouver, Washington. The School also offers exchange programs designed to broaden minds and expand horizons by offering students the opportunity to visit and host students from Africa, Europe and Asia.

Families interested in learning more about the Catlin Gabel School’s financial assistance program should contact Director of Financial Aid, Roberta Cohen at 503.297.1894 or visit the Web site at Families interested in applying for financial assistance must submit a financial aid disclosure form to Student Service for Financial Aid by Feb. 15, 2003 in order for the results to be furnished to the school by March 1, 2003. The Federal tax form is due to the School by March 1, 2003. Announcements of grants are made by the end of March to coincide with admissions decisions. Financial assistance is based on demonstrated family need and any student admitted or currently enrolled is eligible.
