Catlin Gabel high school student newspaper to host mayoral debate

Portland, OR --- The Catlin Gabel high school student newspaper, CatlinSpeak, will host a debate with the front-running candidates in the 2012 Portland mayoral race--Charlie Hales, Jefferson Smith, and Eileen Brady. The debate will be held on Monday, January 30, at 7 p.m. at the Cabell Center on the Catlin Gabel campus at 8825 SW Barnes Rd., Portland OR 97225. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.
In recognizing the importance of youth involvement in politics, CatlinSpeak has invited Portland area high schools to the event. CatlinSpeak seeks to heighten the population’s awareness of the mayoral race, especially the population nearing voting age.
