The sense of neighborhood created on the campus from 3 to 6 p.m. is one that makes Catlin Gabel After-School Care an excellent activity choice for many families. With teachers and teaching assistants to plan and supervise art projects, cooking capers, sports events, computer fun, and organized games, students have plenty to do. Because Catlin Gabel students come from all over the metro area, After-School Care makes it possible for peers to participate in activities together just as they would as neighbors. Before-school coverage, Lower School enrichment classes, and all-day field trips on some no-school days are also part of this program.

Before-School Care: Beginning and Lower School Students

Before-School Care is available between 7:15 and 8:15 a.m. for Beginning and Lower School Students at no extra cost to families.

Extended Day: Preschool Students

Extended Day for preschool students runs from 1:30 to 3 p.m. For the school year:  2012-13 the annual rate is $1,550/year. The daily rate (billed monthly as used) is $11.25/day. For more information, please e-mail or call Chenoa Ohlson, Extended Day coordinator, 503-297-1894 ext. 393.

After-School Care: Beginning and Lower School Students

After-School Care, under professional leadership, is offered for children four years old through Grade Five from 3 to 6 p.m. on each day the Beginning and/or Lower Schools are in session. The program includes special projects, snacks, free play, and individual attention. Parents may prearrange full-time care (at a reduced rate), weekly schedules, or use After-School Care on a drop-in basis.

The 2012-13 school year annual rate for after school care is $2,900.00 ( which includes 5 all-day teacher work days). This may be paid in eight installments. 

For the school year 2012-13, the daily rate (billed monthly as used) is $7/hour.  That is:
$7/day from 3 p.m. until as late as 4 p.m.
$14/day from 3 p.m. until as late as 5 p.m.
$21/day from 3 p.m. until as late as 6 p.m.

There is an additional charge of $15 per 15 minutes a child remains after 6 p.m.
The cost for all-day programs (7:30 a.m. - 6 p.m.) on days when there are no classes is $50

In addition to the basic ASC program, specific enrichment activities are offered for grades 1-5.

After-School Care: Middle School Students

After-School Care staff provides after-school check-in for 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. Any student on campus after 3:45 p.m., except those in supervised programs, is expected to check in. Students must be picked up by 6 p.m. daily.
