Soccer - Varsity Girls vs. De La Salle North Catholic

Event Type: Regular

Date: October 16, 2017

Event Recap:

Yesterday, the Catlin Gabel Eagles traveled to Delta Park to take on De La Salle North Catholic High School for the first time in league history. It was a beautiful night for soccer and the girls came ready to play. Our first goal of the night came from freshman Sydney Straw with an assist from Sophie Adler in the 7th minute of play. 19 minutes later, after a lot of excellent ball movement and control, Anousha Greiveldinger scored off of a pass from Sophie Wand. 8 minutes later, Caroline Cook scored off of a give-and-go with Anousha. In the 39th minute of play Zoe Waechter scored a beautiful goal off of a cross from Sophie Wand.

Catlin came out again ready to move the ball well in the second half. In the 46th minute of play Caroline Cook scored with an assist from Sophie Wand. 3 minutes later Emma Sadle scored with a beautifully, and powerfully, placed shot off of an assist from Senior Captain Olivia Straw. 8 minutes later, Annika Holliday shot the ball, hit the crossbar, and Ann Louise Naito rebounded it to put it in the back of the net to make the score 7-0. 1 minute later Caroline Cook put another one away off of a give-and-go with Annika Holliday. 3 minutes later, Annika finally put one in for herself off of another beautiful cross from Freshman Sophie Wand. After having 4 assists on the night, Sophie Wand got a goal of her own off of a pass from Anousha Greiveldinger to make the score 10-0 which it would stay for the remainder of the game. Catlin saw an exciting last 10 minutes of play with Caroline Cook getting some time in goal and not letting anything in.

Catlin returns to play on Thursday away versus Riverside.
