Philosophy

The purpose of the Eagle baseball program is to accomplish three objectives:

First, to play a part in helping Catlin Gabel High School achieve its primary goal of producing responsible, life-long learners who are college and career ready. Each member of the Eagle Baseball Family will be committed to becoming a championship person. We will recognize that we are role models for our student body and community members. We will be well disciplined, responsible, and always display good sportsmanship. A passion and enthusiasm for life will fuel our efforts as we strive to be the best that we can be, as players, students, and people. We will define class and integrity for those around us by always striving to do the right thing.

Second, we will seek to improve ourselves each day. Our relentless pursuit of perfection in fundamentals will help us compete on a consistent basis. As our execution of fundamentals improves, our added skills will lead to success on the field. We will enjoy the hard work of practice as we see its benefits and gains from our newly acquired skills. We will find joy through the competition of our great sport as it pushes us to reach and stretch the limits of our potential.

Finally, we will strive to promote our program positively within our community, the Lewis and Clark Conference and the State of Oregon. Our staff and players are dedicated to becoming an elite baseball program.
