Upper School

Our Upper School is a place of healthy stimulus, filled with creative, interesting and curious people driven to continuously learn from, with and about each other. Students collaborate in intellectual, playful, artistic, athletic and entrepreneurial pursuits within a framework of inquiry and care. This is a school that fosters individual and collective development for ethically minded goals. Our school develops critical thinkers who communicate effectively, have agency, can deal with complexity and know how to learn. We know that our Catlin Gabel graduates make the world a better place because we see their successes, their agency and their impact once they leave our school.

Teachers at Catlin Gabel are outstanding professionals driven by the meaningful purpose of inspiring students to learn about themselves and the world around them. The Upper School faculty has deep and wide expertise in the arts, sciences, robotics, mathematics, languages, social sciences, literature and the various offerings in our robust curriculum and in our impressive selection of strong co-curricular choices. Our teachers are also experts at understanding and supporting young people and their critical development as they enter adulthood. Our teachers love working with teenagers and they love what they teach.

Relationships are important here. Teachers and students know each other well, they connect through authentic bonds that matter to all of us and that make learning fun and engaging in and outside of the classroom.

This is a place of authentic relationships, deep thought, avid learning, impressive choices, authentic inquiry, continuous growth and also a place of joy and deep laughter. I am proud to be part of it and I invite you to get to know us.
