Community Engagement

Community engagement is an opportunity to share with the larger community. Approximately once a month middle schoolers and their teachers spread out across the Portland area to engage in a variety of service projects. Community engagement is about community involvement and action. Instead of talking about an issue, middle schoolers are engaged in the issue. This is the first step in helping them understand how individuals can make a difference.

Community engagement is about the real world—it invites students to be members of the Portland community.

Community engagement is about acting on our core values and our mission.

Community engagement teaches empathy, leadership, citizenship, and personal responsibility.
