The Importance of Giving
The generosity and investment of alumni has ensured that the Catlin Gabel experience endures.
No one knows the value of a Catlin Gabel education more than you- someone who experienced this special space firsthand. We count on you to assure that future students have the same opportunities.
Your Gift Matters!
Participation is the percentage of alumni who make a gift to Catlin Gabel. We aim for the highest alumni participation in the Catlin Gabel Fund.
Does alumni giving make an impact?
When alumni participate in giving it shows a vote of confidence, an important sign to outside funders that our community is invested in the school’s mission.
We measure participation amongst all of our constituencies: faculty-staff, board of trustees, parents, grandparents, parents of alumni and alumni.
What if I can only make a small gift?
When it comes to participation, and supporting Catlin Gabel there is no insignificant gifts. Every gift no matter how small is meaningful and counts towards participation.

“The most compelling measure of any school is the quality of its graduates. Catlin Gabel alumni are a diverse group of successful and talented citizens. They are making positive contributions to their college, professional, and local communities, applying what they know and can do to improve society. They are the adults we hope our children will become.” –Tim Bazemore, head of school
On December 3, 2015 the Catlin Gabel Alumni Association is holding CG Giveday, a 24-hour fundraising event to support Financial Assistance for Catlin Gabel students. The goal of CG Giveday is to increase alumni participation in giving which is vital to the health of our school.
In 2014 over 100 alumni donated. Your gifts totaled over $11,000!
In 2015 we are highlighting the Financial Assistance program and encouraging alumni to give to support Financial Assistance because it directly supports students and families.
Financial Assistance helps to reduce the cost of tuition for students who would not otherwise be able to attend Catlin Gabel. Assistance also helps to offset the cost of technology, books, global trips, bus service, and co-curricular programs.
- 28% of the student body receives financial assistance
- For the 2015-16 school year, Catlin Gabel allocated over $3.8 million in financial assistance
- Grants ranged from $4,700 to $28,150 and averaged $18,120
