Summer Camp Assistant

Summer Camp Assistant

The Job

We are looking for competent, enthusiastic, and motivated individuals to work with experienced teachers assisting various camps this summer. Camp opportunities include programs for middle school students, the Summer Beehive camp (preschool through kindergarten students), our Honey Hollow Adventure camp (1st through 4th grade), and the Extended Day Care program.

Camp assistants will work closely with the campers as they go about their day, help lead teachers with their activities and preparation of activity materials, and guide small group activities. The primary job of everyone participating in summer camps is to help every child succeed, and it does take a village! Working for Summer Camps is hard work. The hours are long, and working with kids will test your flexibility, patience, sense of humor, and self-control. That being said, it can also be the most rewarding work you've done so far. Students will receive mentorship from experienced teachers and unique leadership opportunities both in and out of the classroom.

Age range: Current Catlin Gabel freshmen–recent alums/current college students
Compensation: $9.50/hour
Dates: Camps run June 22–July 31. Candidates must be available for at least two consecutive weeks to be eligible.
Training: Summer camp assistants must attend a paid mandatory training session June 25.
