Winter enthusiasts of all kinds are invited to join the Outdoor Program for a long weekend in the snow.  Equipped with snowshoes and sleds the group will head to Mt. Hood for a weekend in the beautiful Elk Meadows area.  With our gear on our backs, we will head up the trail from the Hood River Meadows parking lot.  After a creek crossing and some navigating through the woods, we will enter the impressive Elk Meadows on the Southeast flanks of the mountain.  We will be rewarded for our steep climb with impressive views of the snow covered Mt. Hood.  We will set up camp in the small shelter in the meadow and spend the next day exploring Elk Mountain, and the dramatic Gnarl Ridge above the meadow.  Sunday night we will have the option of camping for a second night or heading to a cabin out of Rhodedendron.

This trip is open to all Upper Schoolers.  Interested students should email David Zonana (zonanad@catlin.edu).
