Take advantage of the extended Thanksgiving break to take care of your off-campus community service hours and then explore a remote Oregon lake by kayak.   This is going to be an incredible trip, you'll never forget the sense of exhilaration and freedom unique to gliding over crystal-clear water and camping along the shore of a beautiful, remote lake.

We'll meet at Catlin at 8am on Friday November 20 and drive to Central Oregon, where we have a service project arrange to help restore part of the Deschutes River Trail.  We'll work until the early afternoon and then head a little further south to Waldo Lake, Waldo Lake, which is classified as the second clearest lake in the world.  We'll spend three days on the lake, exploring nooks and crannies, dayhikes along the shore, and camping each night above its translucent waters.  Students will be living, working, and travelling in a group for these four days.  We'll return to Catlin at 6pm on Monday November 23 (this is during conferences, you're not missing school!), with plenty of time to enjoy Thanksgiving break with friends and family.

Service hours from this trip can be applied to your off-campus community service hours requirements.

Cost: $195

Financial aid is available, forms are available in the Outdoor Program office or at http://www.catlin.edu/upper/outdoor-program/how-sign-trip
