Bike along an abandoned railroad

No need to watch and listen for trains.  This abandoned, 21-mile railroad offers scenic and incredible biking on the way toward the Coast range.  We will load our bikes into a trailer, board the activity bus and head toward L.L "Stub" Stewart State Park.  Once at the trailhead, we will roll up our pant legs and start riding North along the peaceful Banks-Vernonia State Trail to the town of Vernonia.  We will bike aroiund the lake outside of town and stop for a a satisfying lunch break and a vigorous game of frisbee in the park before turning around and heading back toward the bus.  We will return to Portland tired and content.

There is no experience necessary, and you do not need to be an athlete to join this ride. The cost of this trip is $25.  This fee covers, transportation, instruction, and snacks.  This trip is open to all Middle School students.  You can sign up by sending an email to David Zonana at zonanad@Catlin.edu .
