Spend a day in the sun learning to rock climb outdoors!

We'll travel to Horsethief Butte State Park in the eastern end of the Columbia River Gorge, near The Dalles.  Once there, we will make the short and easy walk to the mysterious rock formation of Horsethief Butte.  Students will learn basic ropes techniques, safety protocols, communication and climbing technique taught by experienced adults.   The walls at Horsethief Butte are not tall, less than 30 feet in height, but the routes range from very easy to very challenging.  Students should bring a sack lunch, and warm clothes as sometimes it is windy.

No previous climbing expeience is necessary. Students should be open to having fun and being with their friends in a wonderful environment.

The trip is open to students ages 11-14.

The cost of the trip is $30
