Spend a sunny weekend in Central Oregon learning to climb outdoors-- on real rock.  This is a low key and fun way to try out one of the most popular outdoor adventure sports in the world.  We will travel from Catlin Gabel on Saturday morning down to Smith Rock, near Redmond.  Once there we will divide into smaller groups and scatter ourselves about the park and do some climbing.  No prior climbing experience is expected.  Students who are experienced will climb for both days, while newer students will have an opportunity to participate in a focused rock school that will provide them with the essentials of climbing, belaying and rappelling.

On Saturday evening the group will sleep near the Skull Hollow Campground east of the park after enjoying a dinner out at a local dining establishment.  Stiudents should plan to bring their own lunches (two) and a breakfast.  The school can provide all the climbing gear needed.  Students should have appropriate clothing and camping supplies.

The cost for the trip is $50.

The trip is open to Upper School students.
