Let the wilderness be your muse and get out and inspired this weekend. We'll pack up our paints, sketchbooks, and instruments and head out to Ekone Ranch for horseback riding, art making, and inspiration. Ekone Ranch is located on 1060 acres of permanently protected forests, meadows, and steppe at the edge of the Columbia River Gorge in south-central Washington State. It’s also home to 20 horses, most of whom have been raised and trained on the ranch.
We’ll head out to the Ranch Saturday morning arriving in time for a tasty lunch. Saturday afternoon, weather permitting, weill ride horses and set to creating. Catlin art teachers will join us and we'll do plein aire painting, photography, natural material sculptures. We'll bring out recording equipment, make instruments, write songs, and enjoy the evening making music by the fire in the big open air lodge. We’ll sleep in a longhouse under the stars.
Sunday we’ll have another opportunity for a trail ride and have time to spend working on our projects. We’ll head back to Catlin after lunch.
Come get your creative on, because the earth without art is just "eh." This trip is open to all Upper Schoolers. No experience necessary.
