We hope your summer has been a fun and relaxing one. This special early edition of the newsletter will summarize important upcoming events and deadlines.
Thank you to all the freshmen and new families who attended Upper School 101! We hope you learned a lot, but if you have more questions, please don't hesitate to call or stop by the Upper School office. Mary Yacob is the Upper School (US) Administrative Assistant, Catherine Canapary Healy is the US Registrar, and last night you met Jessica Marlitt, the US Student Activities Director & Program Coordinator.

Forms, Forms and more Forms!
Due Friday, September 2
Thank you to all the families who have turned in their forms for the start of the year. It's never too early. Here is what we need:
Campus Commitment Form -- all students
Class Trip Permission Forms -- freshmen, sophomores, juniors and senior chaperones
Pre-Participation Physical Exam Form -- freshmen and juniors
Car Registration/Carpool Form -- student drivers
All forms can be found online at the Upper School Summer Mailing web page.
Forms are due no later than the first day of school and can be dropped off in Toad Hall or the Upper School office, faxed to 503-203-5123, or emailed to Mary Yacob.
Picture Day
Tuesday, September 13
School photos will be done on campus again this year by A is A Photography. Students will receive their school IDs immediately after their pictures are taken.
Portrait packages can be ordered in advance online at the A is A Web site. Print your receipt and have your student hand it to the photographer at the time of their photo.
Order forms will also be distributed on the first day of school and available in the Upper School office.
Driver Education
On-campus classes will begin Monday, October 3 and run Mondays and Wednesdays until November 30. There is no class during the week of Thanksgiving. Registration information and other details are coming soon.
School Supplies
The Upper School does not distribute a list of required school supplies. Students are encouraged to select the basic supplies (pens, pencils, and notebooks) and organizing systems that work best for them. Required materials for particular classes will be available for purchase in the Catlin Gabel bookstore during scheduled book pickup times. In addition, the bookstore offers a selection of day planners, graphing paper, and other materials.
