•OLYMPICS! Thursday, June 10TH—Parents will meet us at 10:00 on the track. Please be on time so not to miss the opening ceremony.
•BOAT DAY! June 11—Boat day is on the last day of school! This is for the children only and we already have parent helpers. Thank you!
Dear Parents,
Thank you families and friends, for joining us last Friday at our Eagle Celebration! The children were beaming with pride in their accomplishments, and we were beaming with pride as we watched them share their work with you. How special it was! We will continue to be surrounded by our beloved eagle displays for a bit, but will soon send them home with each child. They are so eager to take everything home!

Parents always want to know how we make our famous “Eagle Buns.” We buy Rhodes frozen bread dough dinner rolls and put them on a cookie sheet for 1-2 hours to thaw. It takes 2 rolls to make an eagle. One whole roll is the body. Pull out a section of the body and make tail feathers with scissors. Cut the other roll in half. One half (of the half) is the head and the other half is cut to make two wings. Cut feathers in the wings. With scissors, cut two holes for the raisin eyes and cut a hole for a cashew beak. Let them sit and rise and bake for about 15 minutes at 350 degrees.
We hope you had a wonderful long weekend during one of the busiest times of the school year for all of us! As teachers, we use this weekend to write our end-of-the-year reports for each child. The reports will be mailed to your home. You should know that we are so proud of each and every Eagle.
This week will be low-key for the Eagles.
Note from Sue Henry
Please come to the Beehive after Kindergarten Olympics and pick up your child's packet of "Project Corner Highlights." Thanks!
Transition to First Grade
We begin in the kindergarten by making a class list of questions for the first grade teachers. On Monday, June 7th the children will take their list of questions and visit the first grade and meet the teachers. Rest assured – after their visit they are filled with excitement and confidence about moving to the Lower School. They’re ready to fly!
Looking for a Summer Home for Blueberry
We are looking for a summer home (which could be permanent) for our Beta fish, Blueberry. Please contact Betsy if you are interested.
Thank you, Emily!
Emily Sobel, an alumna of the school, has generously volunteered her time twice a week to help in the kindergarten this spring. We appreciate her careful help prepping materials and assisting the teachers in the rush of morning activities and lunch. The extra hands and kind heart were welcome.
We hope to see you at the “Lifer” Sing
