8th Musical	• What are the components that make up a musical? • What does it take to be a successful participant of an ensemble? * What are facets of a musical production? (eg. set design/building,costumes,advertizing, drama, music and dance)	. Parts of an operetta: plot, characters, songs, movement/staging. * Social-cultural context of the era when the operetta was written	Performance of a full-scale operetta Audition, rehearse and perform *Demonstrate an understanding of the parts of an operetta: plot, characters, songs, movement/staging, costumes and makeup	Audition, performances (at last show we ask the students if they want teacher prompting backstage) Self evaluation and teacher narrative	Scores of Gilbert and Sullivan operetta (Mikado,Pirates of Penzance, Iolanthe,HMS Pinafore)	*Examine the play's historical context, classism, sterotyping, and how one culture views another e.g. British parliamentry system at the turn of the 19th century.
