Please contact us if you see any difficulty with meeting these deadlines. By late January 2014, ten to fifteen finalists for the Knight Family Scholars Program will be selected and notified. Applicants not chosen as finalists will also be notified at that time and placed into the pool of high priority Upper School applicants. Please remember the Knight Family Scholars Program is a highly competitive opportunity, so if you are not chosen as a finalist, we are still very interested in your application for admission to the Catlin Gabel Upper School. Not being chosen as a finalist has no bearing your application to the Upper School.
Finalists will be invited to campus for a group visit day in early February. Final Knight Family Program Scholar decisions will be delivered to applicants in late February (date TBA). We do anticipate a waitlist for Knight Scholars candidates.
Scholarship amounts & financial assistance
The intent of the Knight Family Scholarship is to honor the accomplishments of the students as well as their potential by providing funding towards Catlin Gabel Upper School tuition. The specific amount of the merit award each Knight Family Scholar receives will be dependent on several factors including the number of Knight Family Scholars selected each year and the amount of funds available from the endowment. The merit award will not be a full scholarship but will significantly defray the cost of attending Catlin Gabel, and it will be renewed each year. Scholarship decision letters will outline the total merit award package for all four years and will be delivered at the time admissions decisions are delivered.
Families interested in receiving need-based financial assistance above and beyond the Knight Family Scholarship amount should apply by the February 7, 2014, deadline. It is important that you submit your financial assistance application by this deadline or we cannot consider you for need-based aid in addition to the scholarship. Families will recieve their total scholarship and need-based decision along with their offer of admission. Although the amount of the KFSP scholarship will remain fixed during the duration of enrollment, the need-based portion of the award could change if a family’s financial situation changes in subsequent years.
