A Letter From Lark
I deeply appreciate everyone who participated in the auction and came together to celebrate yesterday, today, and tomorrow. I was truly humbled by your show of support for the school, and for me personally, at this important event.
Thanks to enthusiastic bidders, donors, supporters, volunteers, and staff, we [surpassed our goal, set records.] The sold-out event at Pure Space in the Pearl and the online auction grossed over $500,000.
Proceeds from the auction support all that we love about Catlin Gabel: a low student-teacher ratio, exceptional teachers who develop important relationships with their students, outstanding academic programs, and a strong commitment to financial aid. These have been Catlin Gabel’s shared values since the school’s inception (yesterday), have been reaffirmed time and again by this wonderful community (today), and will guide the school into the future.
Thank you to the many, many wonderful people who spent countless hours preparing for the event during the past eight months. Special gratitude to auction co-chairs Craig Hartzman, Indira Nallakrishnan, and Sheryl Rosenfeld. Their unwavering commitment to Catlin Gabel is awe-inspiring.
I am also grateful to presenting sponsor Cedar Hills Crossing, emcee Patrick O'Neil, guest speaker Will Rosenfeld '14, and Judd and Natali Girard for the terrific video that reminds us why we love Catlin Gabel.
Thank you for making my last Catlin Gabel auction as head of school dazzling, memorable, and successful on every level.
Lark Palma, head of school
