As part of the school's effort to collaborate with parents in the education and prevention of drug/alcohol use in teens, we have invited Maurice Solis, a representative from Freedom from Chemical Dependency to discuss the following with you:

• Results of our school survey on drug and alcohol use
• Normative use in teenagers and how that defines their behavior
• Current science research on the effect of alcohol/marijuana on adolescent brains (short and long term)
• Preventive strategies for drug and alcohol use
• Effective intervention when parents suspect alcohol and/or drug use
