Spanish V: Honors Modern Hispanic Literature

This advanced level 5 course introduces students to a survey of contemporary Hispanic literature. Among the authors presented are Rodolfo Usigli, Horacio Quiroga, Laura Esquivel, José Martí, Isabel Allende, and Gabriel García Márquez. Students write several analytical and expository essays and are expected to participate daily in the discussion. In addition, this course provides a solid grammatical review for those students who plan to take the SAT 2 and AP exams in Spanish. Prerequisite: Consent of the instructor.
