Season of Faith
by Anna Dodson
October 12, 2009

Spring allows new growth
Cherry trees grow a lush green canopy
Their tiny leaves reaching up toward the light
Their blossoms opening and showing pale pink
Birds nest in the trees
Robins lay their sky blue eggs
And hummingbirds happily suck nectar from the first flowers
Everything is growing in the spring

Summer brings cheery days
The sun shines brightly
A golden orb against the blue
Wisps of clouds drift lazily by
Pansies show off their brightest colors
While children play in the beautiful world
Blissfully taking in the heat

Autumn brings color to the world
Oak leaves turn yellow
Then golden
Then brown
Their seeds plummeting
Down to the soil
A breeze slowly pulses through the trees
And the leaves fall to the ground
But the sun is still shining
Don’t give up hope yet
There is still cheeriness in the world

But in winter
Everything gives up
Snow whirls in a blur to the ground
The last brown leaves lose their hold on the world
The trees stand bare
Shivering
Waiting for the new sun
To touch their limbs
And wake them up
Have faith that spring will come
