Chase's Hospital Days
by Michaela Bennink
February 17, 2010

Another day he isn't here
It seems like he just disappeared
I eat and sleep and show no fear
I know that people think he's weird

I wish people would stop judging him
My brother is hard to understand
To forget I just go out to swim
On my own two feet I have to stand

My brother is sweet and nice to me
He jokes and laughs but deep inside
He hides his problems so no one can see
When he left to go I sat and cried

Those people should learn not to preach
People should stop giving us a speech
Some people are here to help and teach
We are born with problems beyond our reach
