Stories
by Helen Kim
April 10, 2012
I never saw the color of her eyes
I wonder if they're blue or brown like mine
Wishing upon a star that lights the skies
Oh, would the heavens grant me one small sign
Why couldn't the clocks stop, just this one time?
Couldn't mortality lose one small life?
It’s not fair; devils do not pay the fine
He is like a murderer with a knife
But all the stories that come from our lips
Always keep her alive and beside me
These tales come alive at midnight eclipse
I must keep these legends so they don’t flee
The accounts of people close to my heart
With these few stories, we will never part
