Pumpkin Patch with Senior Buddies

Oh, what a magical day it was!  Even Mother Nature smiled upon us with the perfect crisp, cold fall day for our unforgettable outing...We began our day with a mellow bus trip all the way out to Heiser Farms where we were immediately rewarded for our long travel with all sorts of Pumpkin Canon fun!  Several kids had a chance to shoot the pumpkin canons with the rest of our 1st and 12th graders hooted and hollered!  We then took a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch and corn maze.  Surrounded by hundreds of pumpkins, kids of all ages dashed after each other playing tag, called to one another as they "got lost" in the corn maze and thoughtfully examined a wide variety of pumpkins before landing on The One.  We then returned to the most decadent lunches we could ever imagine with seniors ooooohing and ahhhhing over both the quantity and quality of food gifted to them while 1st graders sat back and beamed!  Our day at the pumpkin patch wrapped up with rubber ducky races, zooming down the water pipe slides, journeys through the haybale maze and races up and down the haybale pyramid.  We then returned to the Fir Grove to carve our pumpkins, resulting in a gallery of wonderfully fanciful and imaginative designs.  Thank you, Seniors, for making our day so magical.  WE LOVE YOU!!!
