Friday was one of the slower days. I could tell people were anxious for the weekend. People were talking about their trips to Wyoming, and skiing in Montana. I wish I could join them. I overheard plans of poker and bowling so I decided to get in on some of it. I asked Grant if he wanted to go bowling today and he agreed to go with me after work. On Fridays during the summer the full-time employees get off work at 12pm and spend the rest of the day relaxing. Both Grant and I got very little work done that day. I worked on a bug in the id search system. After searching in the id section of the products on the MTM app there results were one more than what we expected. After about 30 minutes of looking at the code and sequel data tables, I realized that the problem with the code was a 1 that was missing. After solving this "rigorous" task, Grant and I decided to reward ourselves by going bowling early. We left with some of our co-workers to Sunset Lanes and bowled two games. Grant is an excellent bowler and won the first game. The second game I barely won.
The atmosphere inside the work building was practically the same outside the work building. During bowling Grant was talking with his friends about work and joking around, the same way he did at work. The life outside a job seems to be very similar to the life at work. I'm not sure if that's typical with every job but it seems to me the people you work with are also the people you hangout with. This doesn't seem to be the case for some people I know but I think this would be the case for me.
