On Friday I just did more data entry. The good thing is, that the end is in sight! I am confident that I will finish by early next week.
Ellen gave me a book about zoning to familiarize myself with how to read them in stuff. From the first few chapters I have read, it has basically said "Everyone makes up their own rules for how to code zones, and it depends". I'll keep reading and see if it tells me more. It did touch on the history of zoning, and why they need it (to keep the housing market in check and so some can't just build a smoke-billowing factory next to you and decrease the value of your house). That part was interesting, but I don't get the feeling like wading through policies is going to be that fun.
On a partially unrelated topic, I went to the doggie dash today and I found out the Trimet allows dogs on MAX and streetcar just for the dash. I explained to my mom what was the difference between streetcar and MAX and buses a bit from what I learned at the Portland building. It's rather nice to know these things about cities.
