Symmetry neurotics? Justified.
What better way is there to finish off a week of finding out about weddings at Saint Cupcake then seeing the final product? Today I went with Galen in the cupcake mobile to help set up a wedding at the Avalon Hotel and Spa. It smaller than she usually sets up, only 100 dots (they recommend 2 dots per person) so the set up was pretty fast.
After seeing how the planning process starts, with a phone call from (usually) the bride, then only the ordering, the baking of cupcakes, the decorating (unique or normal), and finally, the beautiful set up cupcakes in a beautiful wedding setting!
Galen has been setting up Saint Cupcake weddings for over two years now, and has it down to a science. Each wedding, each order is unique and so each set up that she does is special. Different cakes, frostings, stands, and maybe a 6" cake all need to come together to look uniform and pretty. Galen is, understandably, very careful when she does the set ups. The wedding we did today had 20 carrots, chocolate with chocolate buttercream, vanilla with cream cheese, red velvet, and coconut on the small wrought iron leaves stand. With her expertise we were able to get the whole thing together in about a half hour. And in the end? Check it out:

That's Galen on the left. My camera died shortly before this was taken, so I had to use my iPhone camera and as you can see, the pictures are even prettier than usual! (sarcasm.) You can't tell from the picture, but Galen gets as detailed as angling the cupcakes so the prettiest part of frosting faces forward. Stunning!
My long term goal is almost done. Earlier this week I tried the pumpkin spice (sorry, no picture...) and if you like food, you'll love it. It's sooo good! The mail room mails them out and sometimes when there's an extra at the end of the day, Zora will bring it to me and I'll feast, sans icing. That means I've tried everything except coconut (not a big fan of coconut, but it's a bakery favorite), vegan german chocolate, vegan red velvet, and the malt ball (also not a big fan of whoppers... Maybe chocolate cake will make them better?). By the end of next week I'll have tried them all!
