My Last Day
Today was my last day and I couldn't have asked for a better senior project experience. I went on an airplane and helicopter flight demos. I don't want to choose sides, but I like helicopters more than airplanes. Don't get me wrong airplanes are cool, but helicopters are so much more complex. I would get a helicopter license and an airplane license because in the end they both are cool. At 9:30 I went on my helicopter flight with Martina, (I hope I spelled her name correctly) she is a Swedish CFI. We flew in a R22 not very far from the airport. Before we left though we had to check that everything on the aircraft was working properly. We were up in the air and she explained everything to me about the controls and how to fly. It seemed easy, but when she gave the controls over to me it was a whole different story. Lets just say I had some trouble keeping the helicopter straight. Martina was really nice and told me that she had a similar experience her first time so I didn't feel as bad. The airplane was much easier to fly. I flew with Kelly on my second demo flight. We flew over the Willamette and then went to downtown Portland. The controls are so much easier to control. It's all about watching the horizon and gently moving the controls in the direction you want to go. I had a lot of fun on both of my flights. After my flight I took pictures to remember everyone. I had such a great time at Hillsboro Aviation and I'm glad that I chose it. Even though I am sad to go hopefully I will return. Who knows maybe I will get my license?

Hey!
Sorry to have missed you on your last day...I stayed home sick yesterday. I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed your internship and I hope you will come back to visit. I plan to spend most of my summers for the next few years working at the business so hopefully I'll see you flying around in a Robbie!! Good luck with everything at Smith next year and congrats on graduating. :-)
