Hello Saturday...
A late start from the workbench today. No matter how how late, or however much I work, I never seem to get any closer to finishing. Maybe it’s just that I’m never satisfied with the results. Which reminds me, I really need to get an alarm clock that actually works down here.
I roused myself at about 10:00 A.M., much later than a normally would so I got much more sleep than usual. It’s weird having that much energy in my body. On the one hand it’s very pleasant, but on the other hand it’s a little overwhelming to for my brain. I’m also not really sure that this schedule agrees with me, I run the serious risk of becoming slothful if I continue in such indulgent sleep routines.
Rehearsal started at 12:00 P.M. so I had plenty of time to make myself a toasted tuna fish sandwich (yum) then eat it before I had to mosey over to the Profile. One rather uneventful bus ride later, I found mtself sitting in the second row of seats, watching the cast warm up via singing In Heavenly Love Abiding”, the second song in the play. Oh, I should mention at this point that we were back in the black box theater rather than the rehearsal room (The non-stuffy air by itself was a blessing). This meant that the director had the opportunity to set the blocking of the play (where the actors are situation on the stage) as he wished. Just the location of the rehearsal was a great step up.
Rehearsal seemed to run much more smoothly than it had on friday. I took more notes (See attached file) There isn’t any rehearsal tomorrow so on Monday, I’m supposed to meet with the stage manager and the lighting designer to help deal with all the rented lighting instruments. I’m really looking forward to that. Rehearsal ended at 5:00 P.M. so I had an hour or so before I had to be back at the Profile for Young Man From Atlanta so I decided to recuperate under a tree in a nearby park.

It sounds like you're right in the mix of the production
I'm glad your work schedule is providing good sleep. I suspect this is a very rare opportunity for most students. From the sounds of your writings so far, your CG theater experience is really informing your time at Profile. I do hope the lighting work on Monday proved satisfying and I'm looking forward to hearing more about the rehearsals. Enjoy!
